SIR Membership is open to all retired men regardless of age, race, national origin or religion.  Begun in 1958, SIR has thousands of members and branches in most areas of Central and Northern California. Our SIR Br 47 is located in Marin, CA

We create activities that our members and spouses enjoy. We have 11 monthly luncheons (Jan – Nov) with focus on interesting speakers and building friendships.  We meet @ 11 am on the 4th Tuesday of the month @ the McInnis Golf Club in San Rafael, CA with lunch served @ 12 pm.  Our speakers talk on various local and international topics, geared toward furthering knowledge and interests.  Further, our members have lots of fun doing activities such as computers, digital camera, investments, golf, hiking, bowling, bocce, tennis, bridge, poker and many other activities. 

We enjoy theater & music venues, wine tasting & picnics, dining out and other outings with spouses and friends. We have 5 parties a year (Italian, post-Tax, Garden, outdoor BBQ and Christmas/Holiday).  A variety of domestic and international SIR travel is available with easy access. Camaraderie and friendship is our primary focus!

We are a non-profit, public benefit corporation for retired men.  Our annual dues are only $35.  We don’t have a political agenda.  We don’t have a religious orientation.  We don’t raise money, do fund raising, do charitable work, or sell anything.  We don’t have a problem with organizations that do, it is just that we are solely a social club. 

You have paid your dues to the working world, so now is the time to enjoy life and have more fun.  The new friendships you create in SIRS will enhance your life and last a lifetime.
