How to Join SIR

JOIN SIR BRANCH 47!  Call or text 415-881-7477 or E-mail sirbranch47@gmail.com.  You will be contacted by one of our membership leaders.  If you already have a member sponsor, they can contact one of our member leaders to expedite the process.

Please note that we are not giving out personal contact information on this website for security reasons.  When you contact us at the phone and email above, we will get back to you as quickly as possible and provide our direct contact information for membership.

Membership is open to men regardless of age, race, color or religion.  Most of our activities are on weekdays so most of our members are retired from full-time occupation.

STEPS TOWARD MEMBERSHIP

Step One:

Line up a sponsor.

Every new member needs to have a sponsor. If you know a Sirs Branch 47 member, I’m sure they would be glad to sponsor you. If not, one of our membership leaders will be more than happy to be your sponsor.  Your sponsor can guide you through the process of becoming a member.

Step Two:

Register for lunch through your sponsor and join us for lunch on the fourth Tuesday of each month at McInnis Park Restaurant in San Rafael, 350 Smith Ranch Road,  at 11:00 to around 1:30. Please arrive prior to 11:30 for check-in. At lunch you will find great speakers and chance to meet some new friends who can tell you more about our group.

Your first lunch is free if you attend lunch with your sponsor.  You do need a lunch reservation.

If you would like to be a guest at one of our ongoing activities, talk to your sponsor and he can line you up to join us for golf, bocce, hiking, or one of our other activities.

Step Three:

Fill out a Branch 47 Membership Application at this link.  You will also receive an application in your guest package if you attend a luncheon.  Get the application to your sponsor either electronically or as an original copy.  He will get it to our board who will review it and it will be voted upon by the board.  Once approved you will receive a welcome email, and you will be on your way to making some lifelong friendships.

Step Four:

Register for and attend our monthly luncheon to receive your Branch 47 nametag and welcome package which will include our membership directory to allow you to contact members and activity chairs.  You will be officially inducted at the luncheon and introduced to all our members.  You can pay for lunch with a credit card through our “Zeffy” link on this website or register on this website and pay by check at the luncheon.

Step Five:

Join in our activities!  You will hear about many of our activities at the luncheon and meet the activity chairs.  Activity Chairmen will welcome you to their events. In fact, the membership chairman will forward the information on your application to the activity’s chairmen, and they may contact you to join in the activity.

To get to know members faster, volunteer to help with some of our organizational needs.  Talk to the membership chair or the Big Sir to find the opportunity that is right for you.
