The hiking group meets Thursdays. Hikes typically are 4 to 5 miles on average; so, there are some longer and some shorter. Many are flat, but some may have an elevation change which means there could be some hills to climb. We are organized with four hike leaders who determine each weekly hike. The leader is responsible for sending a notification to all the branch members who have expressed an interest. An e-mail is sent from the Branch 47 website at the beginning of the week stating who the leader is, where the hike is going, approximately how long it is, where the meeting place is, and where we will be going to lunch afterward.
