What is SIR?The mission of SIR is to provide a means for Men who have retired or are semi-retired to enjoy those years with other members through fun activities and events. Here at Branch 47 which covers the Marin County areas we participate in such activities as Bowling, Golf, Bocce Ball and outings. We also hold annual events such as the BYOL Picnic, Garden Party, Wine Tasting and our year end Christmas Party. What we strive for is the building of friendships through participation with each other. Why in your retirement years would you want to sit at home alone when you can be out with new friends enjoying the fruits of your labors. We are not fund-raisers have no political agenda nor any religious affiliations, the only real requirement to be a member of SIR is to be sociable and attend our monthly Luncheons and or participate in some of our activities. |
We meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month (except December) at the McInnis Golf Center for Lunch and a Speaker. We start each luncheon at 11:00am with a social hour where we catch up with each other. At 11:45am we have lunch and announcements from our Branch Executive Committee. This is followed by a speaker of various topics which usually lasts around 45 minutes. If this sounds like your kind of organization, then See How to Apply and see about joining us in “Making friends for life”.
